Cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested Wednesday morning in Seattle for “Burglary Domestic Violence” and was denied bail, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, citing King County public records.

Joe Fann of NBC Sports Northwest notes Sherman is being investigated for a felony:

Details surrounding the arrest are currently unknown.

Richard Sherman played for the San Francisco 49ers last season and is currently a free agent.

The 33-year-old played the first seven seasons of his NFL career with the Seattle Seahawks before moving to the 49ers in 2018. Sherman made up one part of the Legion of Boom and helped the Seahawks reach two consecutive Super Bowls, with one win over the Denver Broncos and then a devastating loss to the New England Patriots.

Richard Sherman signed with San Francisco just a day after getting released by Seattle in 2018. While he helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl in the 2019 season, he struggled in the Super Bowl in a loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.

There had been talk about a Sherman-to-Seattle reunion with training camp approaching for the 2021 season, but one has to imagine that's on hold now after this arrest.

Stay tuned for more details on this Richard Sherman story as it develops.
