Rick Carlisle is a big fan of Rajon Rondo.

In the past, there has been some perceived beef between the two during Rondo's short stint with the Dallas Mavericks, but now all the two are doing is praising each other.

Via the Chicago Tribune:

“I've recommended Rondo to a couple of teams that have called me about him the last couple of years,” Carlisle said. “As a competitor, you're not going to find a guy better or more resourceful. He really has adjusted his game constantly over the years. It didn't work out here for various reasons. It was just not a good fit. I wished him well when he left.”

Rondo averaged 9.3 points and 6.5 assists in 46 games with the Mavs two seasons ago. The drop-off in production made some believe he was on a severe decline in his career.

Last season, Rondo came back to lead the league in assists with the Sacramento Kings.

These words from Carlisle may come as somewhat of a surprise considering Rondo's struggles in Dallas. But it's clear the two have quite a bit of respect for each other.
