RIP SexyBamboe: Former Dota 2 pro player who last competed with the EU team Bald, has died at the age of 29.

Alaan “SexyBamboe” Faraj started his Dota 2 pro career as part of the LowLandLions squad. In 2012, he would join the mousesports organization and compete in The International 2012, losing in the first round against the eventual champions, EHOME. He continued to play until his last stint with team Bald, which he joined in 2019. His last tournament appearance was in the DreamLeague Season 14 DPC EU Open Qualifier #2, where his team lost to No Bounty Hunter.

SexyBamboe's passing became known because of tweets by close friends and other Dota pros. His death was first reported by DOT Esports, reporting that he died on Saturday, December 10, 2021. Among the players who tweeted about Faraj's passing include WagaGaming, Gorgc (who founded his team Bald), and Blitz.

The cause of death has not been announced, and his close friends wish for the public not to speculate.

SexyBamboe would probably have competed again for this season, as he's always had competition in his blood. It's saddening to know that we'll never see him compete again, but we hold dear the memories we have of his plays, especially from his TI2 days.
