As the Los Angeles Lakers continue their rebuilding process, they will rely heavily on their young core to speed it up. The addition of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Josh Hart to their fold this coming season gives them more players to build on for the coming years, but also a lot of excitement for what they can bring to the table.

General Manger Rob Pelinka recently talked about the three rookies and made a very interesting comparison to music star Taylor Swift on how he they would fare at the start of their professional careers. He also said, during his appearance on the “The Dan Patrick Show,” that he feels like it will be very “cool phenomenon” to see their development unfold right in front of all their fans’ eyes.

“It's kind of like if you go on YouTube and you think about Taylor Swift when she was 16 years old (playing) her first song. It's her guitar, it's her in a little studio, and you watch it and you listen to it and you say, ‘Wow, this is going to be a special thing to follow and a really cool narrative to unfold.'”

“I think it's going to be a really cool phenomenon to watch unfold, much like the trajectory of a young artist that develops.”

Both Ball and Kuzma have been very impressive during the Lakers’ successful Summer League run and had their supporters cheering, and making them believe that this coming year will be a better one than what they had last season. Together with Julius Randle, Brandon Ingram and Jordan Clarkson, these rookies are expected to be fixtures in their lineups in the future, as they continue their quest to become a winning group once again. If they can mature and improve their games together, the Lakers might just be able to make the playoffs again soon, and have a lot of success just like Swift’s music career.
