Robert Griffin III has finally found a job. Colin Kaepernick? Well, he is still part of the unemployed club. Griffin III has recently inked a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens, and the fact that RGIII managed to find his way back into the NFL before Kaepernick only adds to the latter’s sentiment that NFL owners are teaming up to keep him out of the pro league.

When the Ravens announced on Wednesday that they will be signing Robert Griffin III, some observed that it was a deliberate and calculated move on the part of Baltimore, as that announcement came a day before Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome and head coach John Harbaugh will be questioned in a deposition relating to Colin Kaepernick’s filed grievance case against NFL team owners.

For Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, it’s possible that the timing of the announcement of Griffin’s signing pertinent to the time of the said deposition was set in order for the Ravens to avoid getting grilled over their preference of RGIII to Kaepernick since the former Heisman Trophy winner is in their fold now, meaning they could no longer be thrown hypothetical questions.

With that likely out of the way of the Ravens, Florio notes that perhaps the biggest obstacle for the Ravens to hurdle on Thursday would be to prove – or at least make it appear – that Baltimore was not in any way influenced by other teams in their decision-making when it comes to hiring Robert Griffin III instead of Colin Kaepernick.
