In order for the Los Angeles Rams to stay in the hunt for the NFC West title, their star wide receivers need to start producing.

After relying heavily on both Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, along with Todd Gurley, for the Rams offensive production over the past couple of years, a new influx of ball carriers have changed the dynamics of the offense and have impacted Woods and Kupp's productivity.

That, according to head coach Sean McVay, is something that needs to change.

“Yeah, I think so. We’ve got to be able to make some more plays, (and) it takes everybody,” McVay said. “Those are two players we have a lot of confidence in, and we’re just going to see if this week represents kind of a breakthrough for us.”

Having a strong offense, both rushing and passing, is something that any team needs if they are to make it into the playoffs. While the adage still holds true that defense wins championships, a team's offense needs to be able to produce, otherwise the team can't win.

Both Woods and Kupp are putting up numbers much lower than usual. Woods, who has accumulated over 1,100 receiving yards in both of his last two seasons in Los Angeles, only has 469 receiving yards thus far through nine games. Kupp, meanwhile, is in a similar boat, but not as drastic as Woods.

Kupp, who had 1,161 receiving yards last season, currently has 577 through nine games. His big drop off is in touchdowns, where he has fallen from 10 last season to just two thus far more than halfway through the season.
