Through the first week of the season, there have been several huge performances from many of the league's top players.

In line with that, the NBA has announced that both Houston Rockets star guard James Harden and Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo have been named the players of the week for each conference.

Harden picked up where he left off last season averaging 27.7 points with 9.0 assists, and 4.0 rebounds while leading the Rockets to an undefeated 3-o record. This includes becoming just the fourth player in league history to record at least 27 points and seven assists over that stretch of games to start a season. He is also just one of three players to have made four or more 3-pointers in each of the first three games of a season joining the likes of Ray Allen and Stephen Curry.

Antetokounmpo has been on an offensive tear through the early goings of the season as he's averaging 38.3 points on 67.2 percent shooting from the field along with 9.7 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.7 steals through the first three games. He has recorded at least 34 points on greater than 59 percent shooting from the field along with eight rebounds, and two steals in each contest.

Although it has only been a couple of games, each has already put themselves at the forefront of being candidates to watch for the MVP award this season.
