Amidst all the mystery surrounding Carmelo Anthony's future with the Houston Rockets, teammate and close friend Chris Paul has come to the defense of his embattled buddy. However, the veteran point guard admitted that he too was uncertain about what lies ahead for Anthony in the upcoming days/weeks.

Paul spoke highly about Anthony and the work ethic he has brought with him since teaming up with the Rockets, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN

“Melo's been great here,” Paul said. “That's like a brother to me, know what I mean? I don't know what's being said or whatnot, but Melo's been great, working hard every day. So we'll see what happens.”

Paul is proving here that he is indeed very good friends with Anthony. Despite all the negativity that has been thrown towards the direction of Melo, here is Paul, defending his Rockets brother at all costs.

Nevertheless, Paul could not give a straight answer when asked if he felt that Melo's arrival had been beneficial for the team in terms of what the 34-year-old is able to bring to the table.

“Man, Melo's a future Hall of Famer, know what I mean? That's me saying that and knowing that. Like I said, we'll see what happens.”

This statement certainly does not bode well for Anthony. Even his best friend on the team sounds as if he has given up on the situation. Sadly, it appears that we've indeed seen the last of Anthony in a Rockets uniform.
