The Houston Rockets have been hoping and praying that superstar point guard Chris Paul would be able to suit up for tonight's do-or-die Game 7 against the Golden State Warriors, and they now have their answer.

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Chris Paul will NOT be available to play tonight.

Paul suffered the hamstring injury in the closing minutes of Game 5 and was unable to go for Game 6 back in Oakland. Head coach Mike D'Antoni says that Paul simply couldn't explode off the leg as much as he wanted to. Simply put, he's just not ready, and it's nearly impossible for any player to be in such little time.

Earlier tonight, a Texas Congresswoman by the name of Sheila Jackson Lee created a firestorm on Twitter when she tweeted out that she was excited to see Chris Paul back on the floor tonight.

She later deleted that tweet, and we now know why. Looks like she was misinformed about the situation, and now the Rockets will have one shorthanded game at home for a chance to get back to the NBA Finals.

In five games against the Warriors this series, Paul averaged 19.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 1.8 steals, and 2.8 made three-pointers per game.

Game 7 begins at 6PM EST on TNT, and the winner of this game will be hosting LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday night.
