As we come closer to the July 2018 free agency period, there is no hotter story than LeBron James.

Nobody knows what the King will do, but everyone is acting under the assumption that James will opt out of his 2018-19 player option to become a free agent. Given the Cleveland Cavaliers' struggles and their inability to work as a unit that can consistently beat the defending NBA Champions, the Golden State Warriors, a lot of rumors have surfaced about James leaving his hometown franchise for the second time in his career.

Teams mentioned as possible destinations include the Los Angeles Lakers, the San Antonio Spurs, and the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have emerged as a strong possibility due to James Harden's MVP play and Chris Paul's presence. Paul is one of James' closest friends, but they have never played together in the NBA, not even in an All-Star game.

A fan posted a picture on Instagram with some custom made LeBron James Rockets jerseys. Chris Paul casually dropped a “like” to the post, as seen in the images below:

For this to be possible, Paul himself would need to re-sign with the Rockets this offseason. But looking at how the season has played for him, for backcourt mate Harden, and for the whole team, Houston should have no problem bringing the 13-year veteran back. What remains to be seen is if the Rockets are able to sell James with a strong pitch and make enough salary cap room to add him to their books, in addition to Paul's new deal and the rest of their guaranteed contracts.

Anyways, Paul has no excuse to deflect media questions about James coming to Houston to play alongside him and Harden. He has made it clear that the idea of teaming up with arguably the best player in the world intrigues him.
