Houston Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul has passed NBA Hall of Famer Karl Malone for 10th place on the all-time steals list.
Paul entered Thursday's game against the Miami Heat with 2,085 career steals, the same number as Malone.

Chris Paul is one of the best one-on-one defenders in the NBA. He's a six-time steals champion and averages 2.2 steals per game for his career.
Along with being a master at stealing the ball without fouling, Paul is also universally recognized as one of the best pure point guards in NBA history. He currently holds career averages of 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 9.7 assists.
CP3 has made an All-Defensive team nine times in his legendary career. He's going to be mentioned with John Stockton, Jason Kidd and Gary Payton as the best defenders in NBA history at the point guard position.
This season for the Rockets, Paul is putting up 16.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 8.3 assists while shooting 42.9 percent from the field, 36.1 percent from beyond the arc and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line. He missed a bevy of games earlier in the season after suffering a hamstring injury, but has been back in the lineup since Jan. 27.
Chris Paul advanced to his first conference finals last season. Now, the future Hall of Famer is looking to get to his first NBA Finals.
