Despite his day job as a host of NBA on TNT, Hall of Fame big man Shaquille O'Neal is notorious for not knowing some of the names of the players in today's NBA. Houston Rockets center Christian Wood, however, did not let it slide when The Big Diesel admitted that he did not know a lot about Wood's game during a postgame interview on Thursday.

The 25-year-old Wood labeled Shaq as a “casual” in this hilarious exchange after the Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 109-105.

Led by Wood's consistent brilliance, the Rockets won their first game without disgruntled ex-superstar James Harden, who was shipped to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday. With John Wall sitting out, the lanky Wood assumed the role of go-to guy against the Spurs, finishing with a game-high 27 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the field, including 5-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. He also collected 15 rebounds and three blocks in 35 minutes.

After coming into his own with the Detroit Pistons late last season, Wood agreed to a three-year, $41 million deal in H-Town in the offseason. Judging by his strong performance so far, the Rockets definitely got a bargain for his services. After their latest win, Wood is now averaging team-highs of 23.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks.

He is one of the early favorites for the Most Improved Player of the Year and by now, it's hard not to know who Wood is. Even LeBron James knows. The undrafted player out of UNLV has had quite a journey but he sure has made it now.

So Shaq, remember the name: Christian Wood.
