Houston Rockets big man Christian Wood could be a name to watch this summer. The 26-year-old had another big year for the Rockets this past season and now that he's nearing the end of his current deal, Houston could very well decide to cash in on him now while they can.

Given a choice, the Rockets would probably prefer to keep Wood on board. He will be entering the final year of his contract this coming season and if both parties agree on a number, Wood could sign a big-money extension with Houston. If this does not come to fruition, however, it would be in the best interest of the Rockets to get some value out of their star big man now as opposed to letting him walk as a free agent in 2023.

The good news for the Rockets is if they want to pursue a potential Wood trade then there should be a lot of interest in the marker. According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, there are a number of teams from around the league that could be in the mix for Wood:

It’s obvious why teams have been intrigued with Wood in the past. He’s a unicorn of a big man. That interest hasn’t waned, even in the early weeks of the offseason, sources told The Athletic. Wood is talented enough to where the Rockets can’t let him walk without getting assets back if their tenure is headed for an ending.

The Rockets are facing a major decision on the Christian Wood front in the coming months. Has the 6-foot-10 center played his final game in Houston already?
