Christian Wood has been a polarizing figure for the Houston Rockets. The undrafted big man has produced for the team in crucial moments, but he has been maddeningly inconsistent at times. There have also been instances of Wood's… erratic behavior being detrimental to the team.

Because of these, trade rumors surrounding Christian Wood have been floating around as of late. The Rockets center had an emphatic reaction to these rumors, claiming he doesn't want to be traded from Houston. (via @NyxRockets)

“This is my first year being in trade rumors. I’m not really a fan of it. I don’t want it anymore. This is my home. This is where I want to be.”

Wood broke out last season as one of the Rockets' bright spots, earning him some votes for Most Improved Player. Since his coming out season, his production has regressed a little, averaging 17.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. However, there have been times where Wood's attitude has rubbed off the wrong way on the team.

In January, Wood was fined by the Rockets organization for refusing to come out in the second half of their match against the Nuggets. This, along with some inflammatory comments regarding his teammates, have made him a bit unlikable amongst fans. That has made him a rather juicy target for trade rumors.

If the Rockets feel that Wood do not belong in their timeline, they will likely follow through with the trade rumors. They are poised to draft pretty high in the 2022 Draft, and they have a legitimate shot at drafting prized prospect Chet Holmgren. If they like the offers given to them, they just might pull the trigger.
