Houston Rockets center Clint Capella became the first player for their franchise to score at least 25 points, grab 15 rebounds, and block four shots in nine years, as per StatMuse.

The last Rockets player who achieved the feat was Hall of Famer, Yao Ming who did it in March 2009 versus the Detroit Pistons. In that win, Yao scored 31 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and rejected four shots.

Nine years later, it was Capela who achieved the distinction. Coincidentally their opponent once again is the Pistons. The Swiss helped Rockets in their narrow 126-124 win.

Capela scored 27 points, grabbed 15 boards and rejected four shots. Reigning scoring champion, James Harden led the way 43 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Chris Paul meanwhile, added 20 points and seven rebounds.

Opposing center Blake Griffin also finished with a double-double for the Pistons, leaving the game with 37 points and 11 rebounds. But that wasn't enough to match powers with the Rockets' power trio.

Now in his fifth season with the Rockets, the center continues to develop as a reliable player. His signs of improvement have been visible as his numbers have soared every year since 2015.

Last season was his best so far, wherein he played and started 74 games the whole year. He averaged 13.9 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per game.

He continues to be a vital piece for the Rockets, as he averages 16.3 points per game and 11.2 rebounds per game through 15 games this season.
