Houston Rockets center Clint Capela may be the frontrunner for the Most Improved Player award this season in the NBA. Now, the Rockets may be without their emerging big man for at least the next few games.
Capela has been diagnosed with a right orbital fracture and therefore he will not travel with the team on their trip to the East coast to play the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards, per Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

The Rockets have lost their last three games after winning the previous 14, while also dealing with an injury to point guard Chris Paul. James Harden has done everything he can in the losses — two 51-point games and 29 points and 14 assists on Christmas — but it hasn't been enough.
Things will get that much harder now for Houston against two formidable opponents in the Eastern Conference without Capela, who has also been on the mend of late. He returned to the starting lineup vs. the Thunder Monday, but had missed three of the previous four games with a left heel contusion.
On the season, Capela is ranking right at the top of the league in offensive and defensive rating, on a pace that's truly never been seen before. He's averaging 14.2 points, 11.2 rebounds and shooting 69.1 percent from the floor.
