Houston Rockets forward Danuel House Jr. is under investigation for allowing a female COVID-19 testing official into his hotel room, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.

House has maintained his innocence, but his status for Game 4 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers is in question as the league reviews the incident at hand. A decision is expected on Thursday before Houston and Los Angeles take the floor for Game 4.

The Rockets are facing a 2-1 deficit in the series, and House is one of their main role players. After going scoreless in Game 1's win, House bounced back with a 13-point outing in Game 2, but the Rockets lost. He was out for “personal reasons” during Tuesday's Game 3, now bound to learn the fate of his postseason as the NBA doles out a potential punishment if he's found guilty of violating the league's strict protocol.

Opposing teams are closely monitoring what the league will do with this situation.

The Rockets are the lone remaining team staying at Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort, one of the three hotels the league housed its teams in. Rockets players undergo their daily testing at the hotel, which will be the spot of the league's investigation.

Danuel House is averaging 11.4 points and shooting 36% from deep through nine playoff games in the NBA’s Disney bubble.
