Houston Rockets general manager is likely the biggest proponent of James Harden's candidacy as a potential recipient of the Most Valuable Player award. The longtime executive didn't lose a chance to make the case for his star shooting guard, taking to Twitter to prove his point, responding to David Locke's tweet about All-NBA selections.
Morey quickly turned that to favor his agenda with a snarky response aimed at the Milwaukee Bucks and thus Harden's biggest rival for the MVP award, Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Morey's link to basketball reference points to the Bucks having the weakest strength of schedule in the NBA since the 2013-14 season, something a lover of advanced analytics would dig up to make the case for his star player.
However, it didn't take long for someone to throw some shade back at the general manager.

The graphic shows how last year's Rockets had a nearly identical score in Simple Rating System, a metric that takes into account average point differential and strength of schedule.
Harden's camp, including himself, his teammates, head coach and his No. 1 front office supporter have made a concerted effort to make his case for MVP, using his unreal scoring streak and massive numbers as the main catalyst for his argument.
Yet they used a completely different reasoning last season, when they led the NBA in wins.
Morey is quick to niftily target things that favor his team's agenda, but his argument falls rathe flat considering he and others used a completely different argument to help him secure the award last time around.
