McLemore, 26, was selected seventh overall by the Kings in 2013. After spending his first four years in the NBA in Sacramento, he signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2017-2018 season.

His second stint with the Kings came later on as the Grizzlies traded him. However, after playing just 19 games, he was waived by the team in February 2019.

McLemore was then picked off waivers by the Rockets and reportedly signed a partially-guaranteed deal.

In his six-year NBA career so far, the Kansas product averaged 8.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 23.7 minutes. He has shot 41.7 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from deep. Last season, he registered a career-high 41.5 percent from 3-point country through 19 games.

Analysts believe that the Rockets expect McLemore to embrace a spot-up shooter role — much like what Gerald Green has been doing for the Mike D'Antoni-coached squad.

Apart from that, given the Rockets now have Russell Westbrook in their squad, McLemore is expected to run the break as well. Last season, along with speedy guard De'Aaron Fox, McLemore peaked at 1.375 points per possession in transition.
