Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey confirmed that the team has signed Anthony Bennett. Morey took to Twitter to formally welcome Bennett to the Rockets.

Bennett will be playing for his fifth team in the NBA after being taken first in the 2013 NBA Draft. The 26-year-old forward has not played in the league since appearing in 23 games with the Brooklyn Nets during the 2016-17 NBA season, when he averaged 5.0 points and 3.4 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game.

The former UNLV standout's best year in the league was his sophomore season. In 57 games with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he posted 5.2 points and 3.8 assists in 15.7 minutes per game. During his rookie season, the former first overall pick turned out to be a disappointment, posting just 4.2 points in 52 games.

Anthony Bennett spent the last two years playing in the NBA G League, where he showed flashes of brilliance. In the past two NBA G League season, the Canadian forward averaged 13.4 points on 49.5 percent shooting from the field to go along with 5.4 rebounds in 24.4 minutes per game.

He will be the second lottery pick the Rockets sign in the past three days. Ben McLemore, the seventh overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, signed a partially guaranteed two-year contract with the Rockets on Tuesday.
