In his fourth time trying to lead the pack for the Most Valuable Player award, Houston Rockets star James Harden has not gotten any closer than he is right now to take the prized hardware with him at season's end.
Lauded by executives, coaches, fans, and players for his excellent play, The Beard has heard it all after leading the league in scoring with a potent 31.2 points per game.
His teammate, sixth man Eric Gordon, noted he can undoubtedly claim the MVP award with only a few games left in the regular season.

“I mean to me it’s just clear cut he should be the MVP,” said Gordon, who had 18 points against the Portland Trail Blazers to match his season-long average, third on the team behind Harden and Paul. “He’s scoring. He’s passing. And to me, the efficiency is just there. You know, whenever there’s a tight game, he’s just hitting the tough shots. I just don’t know what else you want from a guy like that.”
Gordon joined the Rockets a season ago and turned himself into the Sixth Man of the Year, revitalizing his career by playing alongside one of the most talented backcourt playmakers in the league.
“I just think he needed teammates around him like he has now, where we can play both sides of the ball where it takes a lot of pressure of him, and he can just focus on one thing – that’s really scoring, and he’s defending better.”
All signs appear to be there for The Beard, including the fervent support of his teammates, finally putting it together with incredible numbers and an unmatched league-leading record to make this an indisputable choice.
