Last month, James Harden confirmed that he will open a restaurant in Midtown, Houston. The surprising news actually came in the midst of trade demands made by the one-time NBA MVP's camp. As Harden changes zip codes to Brooklyn, looks like the opening of his restaurant will still push through as planned.

The Beard, meanwhile, has called Houston his home for the last eight years. It's crazy how the once-beloved Texas figure is now being villanized by his former supporters. But who could blame them? The way Harden handled those trade negotiations wasn't exactly amicable.

We've certainly seen how scenarios like this one have turned ugly in the past. Scorned fans have resorted to burning jerseys of their team's former superstar players, One car wash owner in Houston, however, took it up a notch when he offered free service in exchange for Harden's old Rockets jerseys.

James Harden's new restaurant, meanwhile, is a clear ode to his jersey number in H-Town. Judging by the early reviews looks like “Thirteen” won't be much of a hit in the  Houston area.
