Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey says the franchise will have a flexible plan to rest James Harden, Russell Westbrook and other key veterans next season.

Morey says the goal for every team is to have their best players fresh for the playoffs. The Rockets have title aspirations and will need Harden, Westbrook, Eric Gordon, PJ Tucker and Clint Capela healthy for the postseason.

For that to happen, the Rockets will likely have to load manage some guys during the regular season.

Russell Westbrook is coming off two offseason surgeries, one on his knee and the other on his finger. The former MVP says he's 100 percent and ready to go for next season.

It's going to be hard to load manage Westbrook since he's a fierce competitor who doesn't enjoy sitting out games. The Rockets will probably coordinate with Westbrook and his camp throughout the season in regards to what is the best way to manage Westbrook's body so he's in prime condition for the postseason.

James Harden was third in the league last season in minutes per game. Westbrook was fourth. It's easy to see why Daryl Morey and the Rockets want to make sure they're smart with Harden and Westbrook's minutes and workload during the regular-season.
