Rockets back James Harden, disagree on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s MVP win

The Houston Rockets congratulated the MVP win of Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks. However, they believe James Harden should have won his second straight MVP award.

Via Twitter, the Rockets sent out their congratulations to Giannis Antetokounmpo. But at the same time, they listed the accomplishments of James Harden over the past few seasons. In the tweet below, the Rockets noted that Harden has been in the MVP race for four of the last five seasons. They also listed some of his scoring and passing milestones.

Below are more of Harden’s individual accolades.

Given the statistics, do you agree with the Rockets? Should James Harden already have two MVP trophies? This may be up for debate among NBA fans.

Despite failing to snag his second MVP trophy, this doesn’t mean Harden’s 2018-2019 campaign should be forgotten. The things he did for the entire season represented one of the most remarkable accomplishments a player has ever forged.

To recall, the Rockets stumbled early in the Western Conference. This came as a surprise to some since last year, they were just one game away from booting out the Golden State Warriors in the West Finals.

With their playoff hopes on the line after the Rockets’ early-season stumbles, Harden turned up the heat and the Rockets stitched together several winning streaks. They ended up finishing fourth in the Western Conference — all thanks to Harden’s impressive play. Some may call the Rockets bitter, but they’re simply proud of their superstar.

Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t have to worry about the Rockets, anyway — but he would love to settle the issue with Harden in the 2020 NBA Finals.
