With free agency slated to begin on Sunday, June 30, rumors and updates are flying in with rapidity. Some breaking news that recently crossed the transom involved Danuel House of the Houston Rockets per Kelly Iko of The Athletic:

As you can see, the Rockets have opted to tender a qualifying offer to third-year player House after what was easily his best season in the NBA last year with Houston.

The 26-year-old House started his career with the Washington Wizards in the 2016-17 season, in which he played one game, then moved on to a more dedicated role with the Phoenix Suns in 2017-18 in which he logged 17.5 minutes per game while scoring 6.6 points per game according to Basketball Reference.

Last season, House broke out in a big way after signing a two-way contract, which was later guaranteed to a full deal, by the Rockets. House was one of the team’s most consistent performers, and he even started 13 games in place of various injured parties on the Rockets’ roster.

House showcased his ability to be a knockdown shooter last season, producing a whopping 70.6 percent  three-point attempt rate per Basketball Reference to go with a 41.6 percent shooting clip from downtown.

Of course, on a team that is predicated on hoisting up as many three-pointers as possible, a player that can put up sky-high volume as well as impressive efficiency is a good fit. However, that’s pretty much what all teams are looking for, so expect some good offers to come in for House in restricted free agency.
