The Houston Rockets are scheduled to play against the Detroit Pistons. Houston was supposed to hold Travis Scott night at the Rockets game. Unfortunately due to the deadly tragedy at the Astro World Festival, the Rockets have decided to postpone the ceremony and instead plan to have a moment of silence for the victims.

During the concert, eight people have been announced dead, including two teenagers. A crowd of over 50,000 people pushed towards the stage where Travis Scott was performing and it caused a stampede. This led to people not being able to breathe and dying right on the spot.

Houston players were in a bit of shock just like the rest of the world was from what happened at the Astro World concert. Some players reflected on the tragedy.

Rookie sensation Jalen Green had this to say,

“I thought it was sad that one of Houston’s own can’t have a concert without something tragic happening. He was there to perform for Houston in general and he brought a lot of other rappers. I thought it was sad. At the end of the day, people have to be safe.

“If I was in town I probably would have been there. It hurts seeing how it turned into a tragedy.”

The Rockets have decided to cancel the event and there is no date for when Houston is going to reschedule.

This was an extremely sad event and everybody here at ClutchPoints offers our thoughts to the families and friends affected by this.
