Jabari Smith has high aspirations in his NBA career, and he's more than ready to work hard for it and make an immediate impact to the Houston Rockets to make it a reality.

The former Auburn Tigers star admitted that falling to no. 3 in the 2022 NBA Draft gave him an additional chip on his shoulder. However, he's not really making a big deal out of it and is instead focusing on his real mission: winning at all levels.

“Ultimately I just want to win championships and be labeled as a winner, always deep in the playoffs, somebody always competing for championships. That's what I want to be,” Smith shared, per Basketball News.

That is certainly what the Rockets want to hear. While there is definitely some bragging rights going no. 1, what really matters is how their respective careers pan out. Jabari Smith definitely has a chance to be a superstar in the NBA, and playing for a young and rebuilding Houston squad should give him more opportunities to showcase his abilities.

As for what he brings to the table to the Rockets, Smith is well aware of his strengths and how he can make an instant impact on a squad featuring Jalen Green, Aleperen Sengun and Kevin Porter Jr.

“I’m just going to bring competitive edge. My shooting ability, my ability to score, ability to guard multiple positions, and just my will to win… I’m a team player, so that’s what they’re getting,” Smith added.

There's definitely plenty of reasons for the Rockets to get excited about Smith, and they couldn't wish for anything better than a hungry, motivated and talented rookie coming their way.
