The Houston Rockets rookie Jalen Green could have easily won the NBA Summer League MVP after putting up one spectacular performance after another. Unfortunately, it will likely not happen as he recently tweaked his hamstring during the game against the Toronto Raptors.

Green was asked by The Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen regarding his feelings about his hamstring, he responded in a positive way that Rockets fans will be relieved.

I feel good, I’m sad that I had to leave that game, but I feel good.

The Rockets' prized possession will likely be out for the rest of the Summer League games as they will be very cautious with Green's injury. Jalen recently said that he might be forced to sit out but is really excited to have his official NBA debut.

Yeah, I’m good. I don’t have anything to prove anything here. I got to prove it in the NBA, and that’s what I’m going to try to do

I think I proved myself this week, Green said. We’re just going to be cautious and get ready for the season in case it is anything. But it’s just tight.

Green impressed a lot of  Rockets fans as he torched the tournament by averaging 24.0 points (51.7% FG, 50.0% on 3-pointers), 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in 29.9 minutes per game. The 19-year old's playmaking skills also caught the attention of assistant coach Will Weaver.

I’m really proud of his approach, Weaver said. When I spoke to him about what he dreamed about showing over the course of this even, he talked about playmaking, making plays for others, which I think says a lot about how he’s wired. I think it also is a real indication about his own growth and mindset, the willingness to tackle hard things. That’s what gotten him where he is

To be ale to pick-and-roll, kick passes to open teammates, drive and kick situations, … those are things that we highlight. I think he’s had a lot of improvement already

Oozing with potential, it will be exciting to see how Jalen Green and the new-look Rockets will fair during the course of the regular season.
