Houston Rockets No. 2 overall pick Jalen Green hasn't been shy about speaking his mind since entering the NBA. Green at times has been a walking quote as he continues to preach his truths about where he was drafted.

Green sat down with Chris Haynes of Yahoo! and he continued that trend of just speaking what he really feels. One thing that popped up, the motivation for the first round pick of the Rockets to prove everyone wrong.

“Every time I step on the floor, I always think that I have something to prove to whoever is in those stands,” Green told Yahoo Sports. “There are a lot of people who will hate on me, have their opinions about me whether I do good or bad. I’m just thinking about that when I step on the floor. I’m going to prove everybody wrong.”

It's very refreshing to see a rookie feel so comfortable in speaking what he thinks and how he's approaching his first year in the league instead of the typical robotic answers that so many provide to the media.

There are lofty expectations for Green especially since he showed out at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. It was a small sample size and it was just exhibition games, but Green looked the part of a top pick for the Rockets.

It may take awhile for Houston to rebuild the roster into a contender in the Western Conference. They appear to have found one cornerstone piece in Jalen Green who plans to prove his doubters wrong while wearing that Rockets uniform.
