Last season, the Houston Rockets were just one game away from beating the Golden State Warriors in the Eastern Conference Finals. This season, James Ennis believes that with their new additions, the Rockets can finally outlast the Warriors in a seven-game series.

Alykhan Bijani of The Athletic asked Rockets forward Ennis if they can beat the Warriors in a seven-game series with their new players Carmelo Anthony and Michael Carter-Williams. Ennis, who signed a two-year, $3.4 million deal with the Rockets over the summer, said:

“Yes we can. A lot of power. A lot of offensive power. A lot of defensive power. Bringing in Carmelo who is an offensive threat. Michael Carter Williams is a good guard, he can score the ball, his length. If everyone is healthy, we’ll definitely beat them.”

In his career as a basketball player, Ennis has jumped from team to team, in and out of the NBA. He has played overseas in Australia where he led the Perth Wildcats to a title in 2014. He also had a stint in Puerto Rico with the Piratas de Quebradillas.

In the NBA, Ennis has played for the Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Pelicans, Detroit Pistons, and now, the Rockets.

The 6-foot-7 forward was acquired for his defensive services. Jeff Bzdelik, who's responsible for the Rockets' defensive strategies, worked with Ennis back in his stint with the Grizzlies in the 2016-17 season.
