Houston Rockets star James Harden tonight tallied 47 points, six rebounds, five assists with five steals in a 102-97 win against the Utah Jazz.

Harden, per Basketball-Reference, is only the third NBA player in history with multiple 45-5-5-5 games, joining Michael Jordan with three and Ricky Barry who has two.

The Rockets have performed pretty badly this season and not to the level of their talent. Houston, who pushed the Golden State Warriors to the brink of elimination in the 2018 Western Conference Finals, is now 12-14 on the season (14th in the Western Conference standings).

Chris Paul has really struggled with injury and overall production  — he seems to have really aged over the offseason. Eric Gordon is so inconsistent from deep. With no Trevor Ariza or Luca Mbah A Moute, the entirety of the defense falls on the shoulders of P.J. Tucker, who's leading the Rockets in minutes. Clint Capela gained some muscle in the offseason and isn't as quick as he was the year prior.

The team is short on depth and failing to reach their full potential. Hopefully, the first third of the year was just a road bump and they'll still be a top team in the Western Conference.

This hasn’t stopped James Harden from dominating offensively, of course, as the reigning NBA MVP was averaging 30.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game with a true shooting percentage of 61.2 entering Monday's contest against the Utah Jazz.
