Houston Rockets All-Star James Harden has enjoyed a fantastic career in the NBA, but he admits that time is passing a bit quicker than he'd like.
Harden recently joined Bleacher Report for a wide-ranging interview. Amid their discussion, the former MVP reflected on just how fast time has passed:
“You reminisce and then you're like, ‘All right, I was just an 18-year-old kid, and then I was just 21,'” Harden says, taking a break during a recent event to introduce his new shoe, the Adidas Harden Vol. 4. “Where the hell did nine years go? And then like, what's next?”
Harden recently celebrated his 30th birthday, but he didn't want to talk much about that:
“Don't remind me!” James Harden interjects, as if the mere mention of the milestone might buckle his knees and send his hairline into recession.
Though he's 30 now, The Beard is showing no signs of regression. In fact, it's just the opposite. The former No. 3 overall pick posted some of the best statistical figures of his career last season, averaging a career-high 36.1 points on 44.2 percent shooting from the field (36.8 percent from beyond the arc), 7.5 assists, 6.6 rebounds, and 2.0 steals in 36.8 minutes per outing.
Without a doubt, Harden and the Rockets will be looking to make a playoff push in the 2019-20 campaign. Last season, Houston finished with an impressive 53-29 overall record, which earned the team a No. 4 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. Unfortunately, though, the Rockets were defeated by the Golden State Warriors in the second round, 4-2.
