Houston Rockets superstar guard James Harden says everyone in Houston saw what point guard Russell Westbrook will bring to the table this season.

Even though the Rockets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, Westbrook showed off his speed, athleticism and will to win. He even got “Brodie” chants from the Rockets fans when he was at the free-throw line.

Harden, who had a terrible shooting night on Thursday, says Westbrook is just “a different type of breed.”

“Everybody saw it tonight,” Harden said, via Kelly Iko of The Athletic. “He’s a different type of breed on that court. But it’s Game 1, we’re not going to get too down, even if we won, we’re not going to get too excited. We’ve got a long journey ahead of us. The goal is just to continue to get better every single day, and it sucks that we didn’t get Game 1, but we’ve got 81 more.”

Westbrook, who has averaged a triple-double three seasons in a row, put up 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists in his Rockets debut. The former MVP shot 7-of-17 from the field, 3-of-7 from beyond the arc and 7-of-11 from the free-throw line.

The Rockets probably defeat the Bucks if Harden doesn't shoot 15.4 percent overall. Houston will look to get in the win column on Saturday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
