Houston Rockets star James Harden accomplished another scoring milestone in his insane 2018-19 campaign. With his 31 points against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday night, the reigning MVP went over the 2,200-point mark on the season. With this, he became just the fourth player in NBA history to do so in their first 61 games of a season, per NBA.com on Twitter.

As seen above, His Airness Michael Jordan last accomplished this feat back in the 1986-87 season, where scored 37.1 points per game. The Big Dipper Wilt Chamberlain did this for four seasons back in the 1960's, while Golden State Warriors legend and Hall of Famer Rick Barry also did it once in 1966-67.

This is quite the company for the 29-year old superstar. Nonetheless, with his insane performances every night, Harden continues to rack up all sorts of scoring feats and etch his name in the history books. So far this year, with his 2,230 total points this season, Harden is averaging 36.6 points per game.

Certainly, The Beard's recently snapped run of consecutive games with 30 or more points helped him achieve this feat. His streak ended at 34 straight, which is the second-longest in NBA history.

Despite this, Harden hasn't slowed down one bit, and looks to go on a new streak of 30-plus point games, currently with five and counting. Over this stretch, he is averaging over 39 points per game, shooting 44 percent from the field and making over four threes per contest.

Harden is definitely putting together another MVP-worthy campaign this season. He's done basically everything for this team and has led the Rockets from near the bottom of the Western Conference standings all the way to the third seed.
