For the third consecutive season, Houston Rockets superstar guard James Harden is leading the NBA in scoring. Entering Monday, Harden is averaging 39.3 points per game.

One of the greatest scorers in league history, Harden is on track for the third-largest points per game gap between the scoring leader and runner-up in NBA history and the largest since the ABA merger.

Milwaukee Bucks star and reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is second in the NBA right now in scoring. He's putting up 31.0 points:

You may not enjoy the way he plays, but there's no doubting Harden's scoring prowess. He makes scoring 50 points look so easy. The Beard already has five games this season where he's scored at least 50 points for the Rockets, who are 17-9, good for fifth place in the Western Conference standings.

All signs point toward Harden winning his third scoring title. More importantly, with Russell Westbrook next to him, Harden has a shot at winning his first NBA championship this season. For that to happen, the Rockets will have to get through the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. Both LA teams are at the top of the West standings.

Harden is must-see TV. You never know how many points he's going to drop on any given night.
