On Thursday night, Houston Rockets All-Star point guard Chris Paul went down with yet another hamstring injury. Unfortunately for the Rockets, it appears to be an injury that will require Paul to sit out for a while, though it's undetermined just how long.
Following the team's 101-99 loss to the Miami Heat, Rockets superstar James Harden spoke about his teammate's most recent setback, and pointed out that Houston will need to find a way to cope without their veteran playmaker.
“We've got to figure it out,” he told reporters, via Peter Hanson of Sporting News. “Injuries happen.”
Harden is obviously not happy with the circumstances, but is doing his best to keep his team's spirits up. Losing a player of Paul's caliber is obviously a big blow for the Rockets, but they are more than capable of keeping the ship afloat, so to speak. This is not the first time the Rockets will be without Paul this season, and Harden will again need to step it up big time in the wake of his backcourt partner's absence.
As for Chris Paul, reports are now saying that the 33-year-old is set to undergo an MRI on his injured left hamstring this Friday. We should learn more once the results are made public, and we will be able to get an idea on his timetable. However, we should expect the Rockets to be extra careful with Paul, and he is likely going to be brought along as slowly as they possibly can.
