As the saying goes: “You're your own worst critic.” That's how Houston Rockets guard John Wall takes his approach to his play. As of late, he thinks the way he has been playing deserves to be flushed down the toilet. Following Houston's 101-94 defeat to the Miami Heat, the 30-year old once again felt like he played like crap.

That's a brutally honest take right there. The toilet-worthy play has become the theme of Wall's week. Previously, the 6-foot-4 guard suggested the Rockets have been playing horrendously on defense. Now, he takes the blame for stinking up the place once again as Houston lost its fourth consecutive outing on Thursday night.
Stats wise, Wall didn't have a particularly horrible game. He finished with 17 points but shot just 5-of-13 from the field. He did drain four 3-pointers and hand out seven dimes. However, Wall committed five turnovers.
Like any other professional athlete, Wall holds himself to a high standard. Whenever he feels like he could have done more or played much better, he holds himself accountable for his poor play.
Nevertheless, NBA fans will likely cut the former No. 1 overall pick some slack, especially considering Wall missed the majority of the last two seasons with some devastating injuries, with an Achilles tear as the most recent.
Wall has flashed some of the brilliance he displayed as a five-time All-Star with the Washington Wizards. From the eye test, it doesn't seem like he lost any of his burst. He is also still producing at an high level, averaging 19.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in his first season in Houston.
The Rockets may no longer be strong contenders for the title since James Harden departed, but Wall has a huge chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove.
