Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni still believes the Golden State Warriors are under the pressure cooker, needing to win Game 4 at home, even after a 41-point stampede over his team in Game 3.

“To me, Golden State has all the pressure,” said D'Antoni, according to Tim Bontemps of The Washington Post. “They have to come in here and win tomorrow night.”

Going by the unwritten law of NBA home court advantage, sure, the Warriors are supposed to win at home, especially after winning a playoff-record 16 straight postseason games at home. But the Rockets were just cooked in Game 3 — not only on the defensive end, allowing 126 points — but making their highly-touted offense regress three decades, mustering only 85 points on Sunday night on less than 40 percent shooting for the game.

D'Antoni must have skipped another game in his mind, but the Warriors still lead 2-1 with two more games at home — inside an arena in which they have proved harder to beat than any other team in the history of the league.

Sure, the Warriors have to win at home, but the Rockets have the ultimate pressure of stealing this one on the road to avoid a 3-1 pitfall, facing elimination the rest of the way against a team that has already proved plenty capable of winning on the road.

This might be D'Antoni's mental warfare strategy, but it could be seen mostly delusional against a team with championship pedigree and one that has shown plenty of mental fortitude over the years.
