Mike D’Antoni thinks Rockets have lost their ‘swagger’

The Houston Rockets, last year’s best regular season team, are now at 1-5 to start off the brand new season. And head coach Mike D’Antoni believes that the reason behind the slow start is that his team has lost its “swagger.”

As per Kelly Iko of Athletic, D’Antoni seems to be clueless as to what his happening to the Rockets. All he knows is that they are not playing well as they should be and they need to pick things up soon.

“I don’t have a lot of answers right now…we’re not playing well. We’re going to have to get in a room and do some talking and figure this out…We’ve lost our swagger and are on our heels.”

Statistics reveal, however, that the main challenge for the Rockets is their inefficient bench. Data show that the Rockets’ bench is dead last in efficiency rating with 30.2. Also, it seems that they’re feeling the effects of the loss of wingman Trevor Ariza and forward Luc Mbah a Moute.

Despite their struggles, one cannot discount the fact that the Rockets didn’t get to the top of the NBA ranks for no reason. If anyone knows how to win, it is Houston. Besides, it’s too early in the season to dismiss them. One should expect them to get hot and rack up the wins as they approach the midseason.
