New Orleans Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry has some high praise for Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden, calling the reigning NBA MVP “the best iso player in the world.”

Alvin Gentry has been around some great iso players. He coaches Anthony Davis right now in New Orleans, and has also worked with Stephen Curry when he was an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.

Gentry maintains, though, that James Harden is the best and he took his comments one step further, saying there hasn't been a player in the history of the game who draws fouls better than Harden.

Entering Saturday, Harden leads the NBA in points per game, as he is averaging 32.7 points per night for the Rockets while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 38.2 percent from beyond the arc and 84.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Harden averages 10.5 free throw attempts per contest. Some people don't like the way the Beard draws his fouls, but whatever he is doing, it's clearly working to his advantage.

Harden's stepback jumper is impossible to defend, and he has elite handles too that allows him to get by defenders with ease. There really isn't anything a defender can do to stop Harden's offense — you just have to put your hand up and hope he misses.
