Houston Rockets power forward PJ Tucker says everyone in Houston is “excited” about adding former MVP Russell Westbrook.

Tucker, though, knows the Rockets can't skip steps next season and that there will be an adjustment period for everyone involved. The defensive ace says Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni is really good at seeing how different lineups work together.

“Everybody’s excited, rightfully so, to add Russ to our team,” Tucker said, via the Houston Chronicle. “I think it’s something we’ll have to work at. We can’t skip steps. It’s about us coming together to make it work, seeing how different lineups, different matchups will change. Coach (Mike) D’Antoni is really good at that.”

The Rockets are the only team in the league with two MVPs on their roster. James Harden and Russell Westbrook are like brothers off the court. It helps that the two stars played together on the Oklahoma City Thunder back in the day.

PJ Tucker, Eric Gordon, Austin Rivers, Gerald Green and Danuel House will space the floor for the Rockets. When Harden and Westbrook attack the rim and command double-teams, Houston's shooters will be open from beyond the arc.

Since Westbrook and Harden are ball-dominant guards, both superstars are going to have to adjust their games for this partnership to work. The Rockets are really excited to see how far Westbrook and Harden can take Houston next season.
