Amidst all the controversy the team has been involved in of late, the Houston Rockets have been given a bit of a boost with news of new recruit Russell Westbrook being probable to play for Tuesday's preseason matchup against the Toronto Raptors.

The Rockets are in hot waters right now, following China's recent announcement to cut ties with the organization due to team general manager Daryl Morey's show of support for Hong Kong. Houston has done their best to try and deescalate the situation, but it has been to no avail, with China appearing to be very serious about their recent statement.
On the brighter side of things, the fact that Westbrook appears to be nearing his debut for his new team is definitely the type of good news the team has been in desperate need of late.
The former MVP winner had surgery on his knee back in May, and has been slowly working his way back to game fitness, so this recent update is indeed a welcome development for both Westbrook and the Rockets.
Nonetheless, even if the 30-year-old does end up suiting up for the Rockets on Tuesday, his time on the court will definitely be limited.
Houston is in no rush to bring back their prized point guard, and considering how this is just a non-bearing preseason contest, Westbrook should have a highly restricted run (if any at all) against the defending champs on Tuesday's exhibition match in Tokyo, Japan.
