Former Houston Rockets shooting guard Vernon Maxwell took some time out of his Thursday to toss a bit of shade at the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Maxwell has a rather hilarious running gag going with Utah, and this time he brought Oklahoma City into it after the Rockets beat the Thunder in Game 7 on Wednesday:
I’m not sure why I’m getting so much heat from OKC fans. I think it’s a great city. They have a great Walmart and the VHS section of their Blockbuster always has a nice selection. People in Utah would die to have those things. #begrateful.

Last we checked, Utah has plenty of Walmarts, and the state is actually doing fine.
Several fans fired back at Maxwell for making these trolling remarks. There's a good chance they don't understand the bit:

As mentioned, Vernon Maxwell is no stranger to trolling Utah on Twitter. This goes back years:
I'd like 2 apologize Jazz fans that were offended by my tweets. If I knew u guys had internet in Utah I would've never made those tweets.

So here is the reason I’m in Utah. I decided to offer a free clinic to the best young shooters in the state as a truce to try and mend my relationship with Utah fans. Here are the best shooters the state had to offer…. pic.twitter.com/ziJgaFP8En

Maxwell also roasted the Jazz after they blew a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets in the first round:
My heart goes out to the Utah Jazz fans. I don’t know what it’s like to blow a 3-1 lead in a playoff series but I imagine it is heartbreaking. 😂😂😂

As a player, Maxwell and the Rockets got the better of the Jazz two years in a row in the playoffs. Houston defeated Utah 4-1 in the Western Conference Finals in 1994, then won a first-round series between the two squads the very next year, 3-2.
It seems clear Vernon Maxwell isn't going to be stopping his roasts of Utah anytime soon. But now he must focus on his Rockets facing an even bigger challenge than Oklahoma City. Houston is set to face the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the Western Conference Playoffs. Game 1 is scheduled for Friday at 9:00 p.m. ET, with ESPN having live broadcast coverage.
