Houston Rockets point guard John Wall is raring to get back in action after almost a year and a half of being restricted on the sidelines due to injuries. After recovering from a gruesome Achilles injury, the former Kentucky standout is looking to strut his wares once again with the Rockets and even proclaimed lofty expectations ahead of his comeback season.

“I averaged 20 [points] and nine [assists] on one leg,” he said to Sports Illustrated. “What do you think I can do with two?”

John Wall is also aiming to silence his doubters, who have already counted him out as one of the best point guards in the league, and went on to claim that he feels better than ever before.

“I’ve been through all types of things in my life, all kinds of obstacles,” says Wall. “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest people. Keep doubting me. I’m healthy. I’m back.”

“I feel like I’m back in high school all over again,”

“I don’t feel as fast,” Wall says. “I feel faster.”

The shiny new Rockets backcourt general last saw action midway through the 2018-2019 season where he averaged 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 8.7 assists through 32 games played for the Washington Wizards.

John Wall then sat out the entire 2019-2020 season due to an extended recovery period from his Achilles injury. Now that he is finally healthy, he was then sent to the Rockets along with a 2023 projected first-round pick in exchange for 2017 NBA MVP Russell Westbrook.

Wall is hoping to make a statement and carry the Rockets to greater heights despite the recent issues that have emerged in Houston.

John Wall and the Rocket open the season at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Dec. 23.
