This has put the Rockets in the position of having to find his replacement around the league that includes both NBA free agency and the trade market. According to Kelly Iko of Rockets Wire, the team has interest in acquiring Wilson Chandler in a deal with the Denver Nuggets.

Daryl Morey and the front office staff will be looking at replacements, and according to one person with knowledge of Houston’s plans, veteran Denver Nuggets forward Wilson Chandler is one name that will be on their list of targets. The person spoke under the condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to discuss the Rockets’ plans.

Prior to the start of the free agency period, Chandler had made the decision to pick up his option worth $12.8 million for the  2018-19 season. Chandler could be a solid addition for the Rockets that could give them another steady option in the frontcourt that can stretch the floor with his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting. What could also be intriguing is that he's in the final year of his deal that could allow for the franchise to move on after a season if the team decides to moves on next summer that will allow for the front office to a lot a significant amount of additional salary cap space.

Houston will likely look to explore the free agent market first prior to making a deal for Chandler as there are several options still available.
