The Houston Rockets took action early Monday, picking up contract-options on forward Sam Dekker and center Clint Capela for the 2017-18 season, beating the Oct. 31 league-wide deadline, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle.

The Rockets opted not to pick up recent acquisition Tyler Ennis‘ contract option for the next season.

Ennis came to Houston last month after the Rockets traded forward Michael Beasley to the Milwaukee Bucks, getting the young point guard in return.

The team won't likely have very much use for Ennis once backup point guard Patrick Beverley comes back, as head coach Mike D'Antoni seems perfectly content with playing James Harden as the point guard and having Eric Gordon handle duties at the two-guard position.

In other news, rookie center Nanu Onuaku was assigned to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers as the D-League training camps are set to open, according to Feigen.

The move will facilitate some playing time for young Onuaku while the team attempts to pull off a winning record on the road.
