The Houston Rockets defeated the defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals, but were also dealt a devastating blow to their own title hopes when star point guard Chris Paul went down with a hamstring injury late and couldn't finish the game.

The Rockets confirmed that Paul suffered a hamstring strain and would miss Game 6 on Saturday night. During Friday's practice session, however, the Houston guard looked like he was in high spirits, laughing and joking around with his teammates. He also didn't have too much of a noticeable limp.

Just this morning before players showed up to practice, ESPN's Tim MacMahon was told by a Rockets' source that Paul was not feeling good in regards to his hamstring strain. Could Paul have just been putting up a brave face for the cameras as the group of players walked down the hallway? Who knows…

Paul has performed well in the postseason averaging 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.5 three-pointers across 15 games on 46 percent shooting from the field and 37.4 percent from beyond the arc. The hope from Houston's perspective is that Paul gets enough treatment on his leg this weekend as well as the early parts of Monday before Game 7 tips off on Monday night back in Houston.
