Houston Rockets star guard James Harden did not play in the 2019 FIBA World Cup, but he still stayed very busy in terms of basketball activities.

Harden has made his presence known at a number of NBA open runs, including a recent showing at Lifetime Athletic Sky gym in New York City alongside the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Enes Kanter.

Now, the 2018 NBA MVP showcased his one-on-one abilities against NBA peers Stanley Johnson and Allonzo Trier at Summit gym in NYC:

Harden had another sensational season this past year, leading the NBA in scoring at 36.1 points per game and posting the highest usage rating for the second consecutive season. Harden also led the NBA in win shares while finishing second in Player Efficiency Rating (PER).

“The Beard” made headlines on Friday when he said that he was robbed of winning the MVP for the second straight season. The award went to Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antentoukounmpo:

Harden put up arguably the greatest offensive month in NBA history in January, averaging 43.6 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.6 assists while keeping the Rockets afloat amidst a number of injuries. The 30-year-old superstar has established himself as perhaps the most dominant offensive player in basketball, and his ability to create separation is second-to-none.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey made the big move to acquire former Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook in an effort to give Harden another co-star in a loaded Western Conference. There are plenty of questions as to whether or not the two can coexist on the field, but Houston will undoubtedly be one of the most exciting teams in basketball.
