Russell Westbrook of the Houston Rockets is still producing some of the most entertaining highlights in the NBA in his age-31 season, as this acrobatic layup against the Portland Trail Blazers displays.

As you can see, Russell Westbrook loses the ball as he’s going up for the layup, regains control of it mid-air, gets fouled and still manages to put the ball in rather easily for the and-one opportunity. Truly elite stuff from one of the biggest stars in the NBA.

Despite Westbrook’s big-name appeal, many have questioned the Rockets for trading a massive bounty to the Oklahoma City Thunder in order to acquire Westbrook, including giving up Chris Paul, who has experienced an impressive resurgence so far in the 2019-20 season.

While the Rockets have been good, they have not been the world-beaters that many expected them to be. Still, if Westbrook continues to make plays like this one, they’ll be in good shape come playoff time.
