A.S. Roma complete Rui Patricio's signing for £10m from Wolverhampton Wanderers, ending a three-year spell at Molineux

The Serie A team announced via Twitter.

The Portuguese Goalkeeper has become fellow countryman and newly appointed team manager Jose Mourinho's first signing. The keeper has made 157 appearances for the Wolves and kept 37 clean sheets, including 31 in the Premier League, and has helped the team reach the Europa League quarter-finals.

Wolves technical director Scott Sellars said in a heartfelt message

“We would like to thank Rui for everything he has done for Wolves during the past three seasons.”

“He has been part of the best years of the club's recent history, in terms of the success we have had, coming to us when we were newly promoted and helping the club to achieve two seventh-place finishes.”

“He has been a fantastic serveant to the club, but it's a fantastic opportunity for him to experience a new club in a new leage, and a good move for everybody involved.”

Patricio's move to Roma clears the way for the arrival of Portuguese Jose Sa from the Greek club Olympiakos.

Mourinho will be getting a proven Goalkeeper who plays consistently on the big in the Premier League and in Europe as well. The veteran keeper will take the gloves off out-of-favor goalkeeper Pau Lopez, who is rumored to be leaving for Ligue 1 club Marseille.

It will be interesting to see the chemistry between Jose Mourinho and his newly signed Shot-stopper, Patricio since they both share the same super-agent in Jorge Mendes. Maybe a chance at being managed by the chosen one is another reason why Rui eventually agreed to join Roma.
